After making your espresso in your espresso machine, combine it with the peppermint extract and chocolate. Add in the steamed milk and topped with whipped cream and chocolate for a delicious, creamy drink.

You will be surprised how simple the ingredients are in your favorite drink. Make it at home with these easy ingredients.

  • Espresso or strong coffee
  • Mocha Sauce or chocolate sauce
  • Peppermint Syrup
  • Steamed Milk
  • Whipped Cream
  • Crushed Candy Cane

How to Make Starbucks Peppermint Mocha:

  • Step 1 – Place the espresso, peppermint extract and chocolate syrup in a cup of your choice. 
  • Step 2 – Stir to combine these ingredients.
  • Step 3 – Steam and froth the whole milk. 
  • Step 4 – Add the milk to the cup.
  • Step 5 – Top with the whipped cream and the shaved dark chocolate.

How to Steam Milk at Home:

You can steam milk in your microwave or on your stove top.

To steam milk in the microwave, pour the milk in a microwave safe mug and heat for about 20 seconds. Pour your coffee or espresso in the mug and enjoy.

To steam milk on the stovetop, pour milk in a saucepan and heat. Once heated, pour into a coffee mug with your coffee or espresso and enjoy.

To get a precise temperature, you may need to use a thermometer.

  • Espresso – If you do not have a espresso machine, use strong coffee.
  • Froth Milk – Froth the milk by either using an electric brother, use a steam wand from an espresso machine, or simmer the milk on the stove top.
