Recipe Tips

  • Making the Heart – We recommend forming the heart prior to baking them. Roll the cinnamon rolls and close the ends to make sure it bakes into a heart.
  • Frosting – We prefer to make the cream cheese frosting. But you can use the icing that comes with the package and just dye it green.
  • Red Heart Sprinkle – If you are unable to find the red heart sprinkles, you can use just regular sprinkles. You can even top it with a red M&M.
  • Cinnamon Rolls – You can use any flavor or brand.

What Type of Green Food Coloring is Best?

We recommend using gel food coloring to mix with the homemade icing. Regular frosting will make the frosting to thin since it is water base.

Feel free to change the coloring of the frosting if you prefer. Red frosting with green sprinkles would also be a great option.
