We love making holiday treats for Christmas and this eggnog milkshake is one of our favorites. Eggnog shake is delicious and full of flavor. You only need a few ingredients and a blender to make homemade eggnog shake.

Your family will love this festive drink and is perfect to drink while decorating the Christmas tree. Feel free to change the ingredients or add in alcohol for a delicious adult drink.

When Can I Buy Eggnog?

Since eggnog is a holiday drink, it usually starts showing up in the grocery stores in October. But you can also make your own from scratch.

Eggnog is only in stores a limited time.

Ingredients:

  • Vanilla Ice Cream 
  • Eggnog 
  • Cinnamon 
  • Whipped Cream (for serving) 

How to Make Eggnog Milkshake: 

  • Step 1 – Combine Ingredients – Place the regular vanilla ice cream, eggnog and cinnamon in a blender.  Blend until smooth. 
  • Step 2 – Pour Mixture – Pour the mixture evenly into 2 serving glasses.

  • Step 3 – Add Toppings – Top with the whipped cream and sprinkle extra cinnamon on top. 
  • Step – Serve and Enjoy – Serve immediately while cold and enjoy.

Recipe Tips:

  • Ice Cream –Before blending the ingredients together, make sure the ice cream is softened. You don’t want the ice cream melted but not hard.
  • Serving Glasses – We like to chill the glasses before pouring the eggnog. This helps to really chill the eggnog for amazing flavor.
  • Texture – If you want a thinner milkshake, add more milk. If you want a thicker texture just add more ice cream.
  • Blender – To blend the ingredients smooth and creamy, make sure to use a quality blender.

Yes, you can freeze eggnog milkshake. Place the milkshake in a freezer safe container. If stored properly the milkshake will last about 3 months.

When you are ready to serve, place in the fridge for about 30 minutes to softened. You make need to re-blend the ingredients.

How to Store Leftovers:

This is best served fresh, but you can store any leftovers in the freezer for 1-2 days. 

Let the leftovers sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes. Then stir to make it a shake consistency again before serving.
