- Baking Brownies – Be careful to not over bake the brownies. This will make them lose their delicious fudgy consistency. Bake time will vary.
- Cutting Out the Christmas Trees – Make sure the brownies are completely cooled before cutting.
- Melting Candy Melts – Make sure to melt the candy melts in 30 seconds intervals so they do not burn.
- Spooning On Brownies – Gently spread the icing on the brownies after it has set for a few minutes. It does not take a lot to frost the brownies.
- No Christmas Tree Cutter – If you do not have a Christmas Tree cutter. Then you can free hand cut it with a knife.
Variation Ideas:
- Brownies – Feel free to use different types of brownies to make this recipe. You can also make Homemade brownies if you prefer, instead of box mixed.
- Cookies – You can also decorate cookies with this frosting and the fun sprinkles.
- Frosting – Feel free to frost the brownies with different types of frosting. We love using candy melts because of the how many colors they come in. But you can use store bought frosting if you prefer or use food coloring to change the color.
- Melting Chocolate – Feel free to melt chocolate chips or almond bark instead of candy melts to make the frosting. If you use white chocolate, add in green food coloring to frost the brownie trees.
- Decorating – We used fun candy sprinkles to add to the brownies. But you can also use crushed candy canes, sprinkle green sanding sugar, or powdered sugar. We have even used red cookie icing to drizzle over the top.
- Piping Bag – If you want want to make detail decorations on the brownies, you can use a piping bag.
