How to Make Grinch Brownies:
Step 1 – Prepare the brownies based on the package instructions with hand mixer or stir by hand.
Step 2 – Bake brownies in preheated oven at 350 degrees. Set aside and allow them to cool at room temperature.
Step 3 – Place the white chocolate chips and cream in a microwave heat-safe bowl. Heat in 30 second intervals in the microwave, stirring after each interval, until melted and combined.
Step 4 – Add a few drops of peppermint extract. Add the drops of green food coloring to mixture. Continue adding until the mixture is a vibrant green color.
Step 5 – Pour the mixture on top of the brownies.
Step 6 – Sprinkle the chopped Oreos on top of brownies and Red M&Ms on top.
- Step 6 – Chill Brownies – Chill the brownies for at least 1 hour so that the topping can set on a wire rack.
- Step 7 – Serve & Enjoy – Then the brownies are ready to cut, serve and enjoy.
Recipe Tips:
- Prepared Brownies – Once you have prepared the brownies and bake at 350 degrees. Make sure you allow them to cool completely before adding the frosting.
- Do not overmix – If you overmix the brownie batter, it will result in a more cake like consistency. Only blend until just combined so they will turn out fudgy.
- Melting Chocolate – Carefully melt the white chocolate and heavy cream together. We recommend heating in 30 seconds so the chocolate doesn’t burn. Heat in a safe bowl or you can also melt on the stove top.
- Adding Green Food Coloring – Make sure to add enough food coloring to make the color a vibrant green.
- Chill the Brownies – Allow the brownies to chill for at least an hour after placing the topping on the brownie. This allows the topping to set.
- Prepared Baking Dish – Line a 9 13 baking dish with parchment paper or spray cooking spray.
- Cutting Brownies – After chilling the brownies, cut the brownies with a sharp knife. We like to remove the brownies from the pan with the parchment paper. It is easier to cut the brownies when remove from the pan.
- Cookie Trays – If you like making cookie trays for the holidays, these Grinch brownies are the perfect addition.
