Expert Tips

  • Making the Red Velvet Cake – You will not use the instructions that are listed on the cake mix box. Prepare the cake with butter and egg according to the recipe.
  • Layers – Make sure to allow each layer to chill prior to adding the next layers. This allows for each layer to be distinct when cutting.
  • Cool Whip – Make sure to use cool whip topping when combining with the other ingredients.
  • Food Coloring – When adding in the green food coloring, make sure you are adding a few drops at a time.
  • Softened Ingredients – Make sure the cream cheese and butter has softened before mixing with the other ingredients. It helps to create a smooth and creamy texture.
  • Spread the Layers Evenly – Evenly spread the layers across the pan so that all areas are covered.
  • Chill Dessert – Allow the cake to chill for at least 30 minutes before serving for best results.
