Instructions

  • Make cake and bake according to box instructions in a 9X13 pan. Then let the cake cool at room temperature.
  • Remove the cake from the pan.  Remove the brown outside layer from the cake and throw it away.
  • Crumble up the remaining cake into a large bowl.
  • Add the frosting to your crumbled cake and stir everything together until well combined.
  • Take approximately 1 tablespoon of the mixture and form it into a cone shape and place on a baking sheet.
  • Continue this process until all the cake mixture is formed into cone shapes.
  • Place the green candy melt in a microwave safe bowl.  Heat in 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval until fully melted. Be careful not to over heat.
  • Dip the end of lollipop sticks into the melted green candy melt.  Then gently place each cake pop stick into the larger end of the cone about halfway through.
  • Place in the freezer for 10-15 minutes.
  • Then dip the entire tree portion of the cake pop in the green candy melt.  Use a toothpick to make the candy melt resemble the branches on a Christmas tree.
  • Then place the stick of cake pops in a block of styrofoam.  Top the cake pops with the M&Ms as ornaments and top with a star sprinkle on top before the candy coating dries.
