Instructions

  • Place the collard greens in a 6 quart crock pot.
  • Top the ham hock.
  • Next, add in the bacon, bacon grease, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, salt, pepper and water to the crock pot.
  • Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 3.5-4 hours until the ham hocks are tender.
  • Remove the ham hocks from the crock pot, discard the skins and shred any meat off.
  • Stir the meat back into the crock pot with the greens.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
